Relay Blitz Update: 1280 Teams Recruited!

A message from Joan, American Cancer Society Staff in Campbell, CA:

Hi Team,

Just a word of hope! I have recruited 4 very probable Relay teams -
One is a volunteer who turned me down for a Table For Ten event - so was an easy ask and she loves the idea
The other is a company President/COO whom I have been cultivating.
The other was a Carmel restaurant manager at lunch yesterday ( I had a packet with me)
The last is the real estate agency where my Carmel volunteer partner works.

I think with this economy, the R4L challenge gives us a way to stay in front of people and gives them something to do when they are feeling guilty about not making a big gift. It is not right for everyone, but for some it hits the nail on the head.

Anyway, just wanted you to know it has been an easy offer for me to make...so good luck!

Have a great weekend,
Joan

Relay Blitz Update: 662 Teams Recruited!

We continue to see great success in our Team Blitz. We are about half way through the Blitz and have recruited 662 teams -- meaning we more than doubled our numbers from last week! Let's keep up the phenomenal work!

I always enjoy sharing recruitment success stories from the field. Sandy Smith, regional director of Operations and Training in Border Sierra told me her key to success is to dedicate a block of time to reaching out to her contacts. Unless she hears a definite "no," she considers all her contacts to be potential team captains! She has recruited three team captains for Relay For Life of Lancaster and is confident she will recruit at least eight to ten teams by the end of the Blitz!
